Designed around a 48Vdc battery platform with a 40–60Vdc operating range. It supports Li-ion, lead-acid and user-defined battery configurations.
Two independent MPPT inputs support up to 9,000W + 9,000W of PV array power, providing up to 18kW total PV input for larger residential solar installations.
The system supports 1–6 inverter units in parallel, providing a scalable architecture for projects requiring higher power output.
Two or more units can also form a three-phase output configuration.
Supports up to 200A continuous AC bypass current, providing greater flexibility for whole-home energy management and high-load residential applications.
A separated generator input allows the inverter to incorporate generator power into a hybrid home energy system, providing an additional energy source when solar, battery or grid power is limited.
AC coupling functionality enables integration with an existing grid-connected solar system, making the inverter suitable for retrofit projects where homeowners want to add battery storage without completely rebuilding their existing solar installation.
Multiple operating modes support on-grid, off-grid and UPS applications, allowing the inverter to adapt to different home energy strategies and backup requirements.
Built-in peak shaving and time-of-use functions help homeowners manage when energy is drawn from the grid, solar array or battery.
The inverter features an IP65-rated enclosure and an operating temperature range of -25°C to 60°C, with derating above 45°C.
A 5-inch color touchscreen provides local system monitoring and configuration. Optional Wi-Fi and GPRS connectivity support remote monitoring and cloud connectivity.
North American homes have different electrical requirements from many European and Asian residential markets. In particular, 120/240V split-phase power is widely used for U.S. residential electrical systems.
The HS-LV12KNA is designed around this requirement, providing 12kW rated output at 240V while supporting a 48V battery platform, solar PV, utility grid and generator integration.
This makes it suitable for:
The inverter provides two MPPT channels, each supporting up to 9kW of PV array power.
Maximum PV Array Power: 9,000W + 9,000W
MPPT Operating Range: 125–450Vdc
Maximum Open-Circuit Voltage: 550Vdc per MPPT
Maximum Input Current: 32A + 32A
MPPT Tracking Efficiency: 99.9%
With up to 18kW of PV input available to a 12kW inverter, the system provides flexibility when designing larger residential solar arrays.
The inverter operates with a 48Vdc nominal battery system and supports a battery voltage range of 40–60Vdc.
Compatible battery options include Li-ion, lead-acid and user-defined battery configurations.
Charging capability includes:
Maximum PV Charging Current: 200A
Maximum Generator Charging Current: 90A
Maximum Hybrid Charging Current: 240A
This makes the inverter particularly suitable for pairing with expandable 48V LiFePO₄ home battery systems.
For projects requiring more inverter capacity, the HS-LV12KNA supports up to six units in parallel.
This allows installers to use the same inverter platform across different project sizes instead of moving immediately to a completely different system architecture.
Two or more inverter units can also be configured to form three-phase output where required.
Not every homeowner installing battery storage is starting with a new solar system.
The inverter supports AC coupling with an existing on-grid solar system, providing an option for retrofit projects where PV has already been installed.
This makes the platform suitable for both new solar-plus-storage installations and existing U.S. solar homes looking to add energy storage and backup capability.
The hybrid architecture allows multiple energy sources to work within one residential power system:
Solar PV + Battery + Utility Grid + Generator + Backup Loads + Home Loads
Programmable operating priorities allow the system to manage battery and grid power according to different operating strategies.
This provides homeowners and installers with greater flexibility for backup power, solar self-consumption and energy management.
The inverter supports features including:
A 5-inch color touchscreen LCD provides direct access to operating information and system settings.
With 12kW output, 120/240V split-phase operation, 48V battery compatibility, 18kW PV input, 200A AC pass-through, generator integration, AC coupling and up to six-unit parallel operation, the HS-LV12KNA provides a flexible inverter platform for U.S. and North American residential solar and battery storage projects.
